Ohio sheriffs issue more than 132K CCW permits in 2019

Of the more than 132,000 concealed carry license issued in Ohio in 2019, more than 54,000 were new CCW permits.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost on Monday issued Ohio’s Law on Concealed Handguns annual report.

County sheriffs issued 54,426 new licenses and 77,959 renewals.

Under Ohio law, county sheriffs are responsible for issuing CCW licenses and renewing them, as well as suspending and revoking licenses. Permit holders must renew licenses every five years.

Ohio county sheriffs began issuing concealed carry licenses in 2004.
