Woman who died in early morning house fire identified

DAYTON

The identity if a woman who died in a house fire early this morning has been released.

Norma J. Hall, 82, died in the fire, according to Montgomery County Coroner Kent Harshbarger.

When crews arrived to the fire in the 2800 block of  Lansing Drive in Dayton around 1:20 a.m., multiple smoke alarms were sounding and there was just a little fire left in the attic, said Dayton Fire Captain Aaron Chaney.

“We didn’t have a lot of visible flames, just high heat and low visibility,” he said.

Hall was found dead in the home.

Multiple smoke detectors were sounding when crews arrived, Chaney said.

Neighbors called 911 because they started to smell smoke.
