BJ's Restaurant & Brewpub opens today, Feb. 1, adjacent to the Mall at Fairfield Commons, the fourth restaurant to open in or at the mall in the last six weeks.

The free-standing, 7,300-square-foot restaurant is the second Dayton-area location for the Huntington Beach, California-based BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, which opened an 8,300-square-foot restaurant at Austin Landing in Miami Twp. in September 2013.

A Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant, also free-standing new construction, opened Dec. 15 at the Fairfield Commons mall; Designer Dogs opened inside the mall’s food court on Jan. 18; and a BRAVO! Cucina Italiana restaurant opened Jan. 28 in the mall a few hundred feet away from the two new free-standing restaurants.

BJ’s, Chuy’s and BRAVO are replacing a portion of the mall that was demolished a year ago and which formerly housed department-store space.
