County office slowed by pandemic reopens to in-person service

The Montgomery County Recorder’s Office reopened Monday to the general public for in-person business.

After being closed to in-person contact because of the coronavirus, the office is opening with CDC and Ohio Department of Health suggested guidelines for the safety of the staff and customers.

The safety precautions include sneeze guards, additional hand sanitizing stations and social distancing markers. All staff members will be wearing face masks; however, the public is not required to wear masks.

Services open to the public include the handling of ownership documents pertaining to real estate and issuing complimentary ID cards to veteran who have been honorably discharged.

“The safety of the citizens and my staff is and will remain my top priority,” said recorder Brandon McClain. “We could not predict how the COVID-19 pandemic would affect our community, but we can determine how we respond. My office will respond with safety measures that ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency, focused on keeping our local real estate market strong.”
