The Orange Leaf frozen yogurt shop in Springboro will shut down after the close of business on Dec. 7, and will offer 50 percent off all purchases through the final day, the franchise operator announced on the store's Facebook page.

Franchise co-owner Blaine Hoffman confirmed the closing in a phone interview, saying the decision was primarily a personal one for himself and his wife, who operated the store together.

“My wife and I want to move on to the next chapter of our lives,” Hoffman said.

The store at 662 N. Main St. opened two-and-a-half years ago. The closing will affect seven employees, the franchise owner said.

The closing does not affect other Dayton-area Orange Leaf locations, which are operated by other franchise owners. An Orange Leaf shop on Oakwood Avenue near the University of Dayton shut down 11 months ago.
