Scott was rear-ended by a blue 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Nicholas Short of Cincinnati, according to a preliminary Ohio State Highway Patrol investigation.

The impact forced Scott’s vehicle left of center, where it collided head-on with a westbound blue 2009 Honda Odyssey driven by Michael B. Cramer of Lebanon, troopers said.

Four people from the Honda Odyssey were taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown with injuries ranging from serious to minor, according to the OSP.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected, but “distracted driving appears to have been a contributing factor,” the patrol stated.

The crash remains under investigation.
