Grange Hall Road reopens after morning rollover crash in Beavercreek

UPDATE @ 4:19 p.m.:

Grange Hall Road has reopened after a crash sent a car into a utility pole around 8:30 a.m.

The two-vehicle crash resulted in thousands of DP&L customers to lose service for approximately an hour. Service was restored to most customers before noon.

Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

UPDATE @ 10:12 a.m.:

Grange Hall Road will remain closed between LaGrange Road and Summerfield Drive through the afternoon after a two-vehicle crash resulted in a car hitting a utility pole, according to DP&L.

The road is expected to reopen around 3 p.m.

A driver heading north on Grange Hall Road fell asleep at the wheel around 8:21 a.m.. according to Beavercreek police. The vehicle went left center, hitting a second vehicle going south on Grange Hall Road.

The southbound vehicle went off the road and hit the utility power, resulting in power outage for thousands of residents and businesses. As of 9:45 a.m., service had been returned to most customers.

Both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The driver of the northbound vehicle will be cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.

UPDATE @ 9:45 a.m.: 

Power has been restored to most in Beavercreek but some outages remain after a crash initially knocked out electricity to over 3,200 DP&L customers.

As of 9:45 a.m., only 566 DP&L outages remain, according to an online outage map.

A woman was trapped in the car after the crash but was later rescued and taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, firefighters said.

DP&L crews are on the scene and are continuing to make repairs.

Firefighters have rescued a driver who was trapped in their car following a rollover crash on Grange Hall Road in Beavercreek Monday morning.

The woman was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, according to firefighters.

The crash damaged a utility pole and has knocked out power to over 3,200 DP&L customers, according to an online outage map.

FIRST REPORT

A driver is reportedly trapped in a vehicle following a rollover crash on Grange Hall Road in Beavercreek, according to police scanner traffic.

The crash was reported on Grange Hall Road at Summerfield Drive, just south of Kemp Road, before 8:30 a.m.

An online DP&L outage map shows 3,224 customers are without power in Greene County after the crash was reported.

Initial reports indicate one vehicle is on its side after crashing into a utility pole. Power lines are down and have trapped the driver inside the vehicle, scanner traffic indicates.

The condition of the driver was not immediately known, however, scanner traffic indicates the driver is believed to be stable.
