Car crash into pole causes small outage in Spring Valley; road closed for the repair

A portion of Centerville Road is closed in Spring Valley after a car crashed into a utility pole around 2:20 a.m.

According to scanner traffic, the crash knocked down power lines, and dispatch records said that the pole needed to be replaced.

The road is closed from Waynesville Road to Penewit Road while Dayton Power & Light crews work. Dispatchers said that it was unknown how long the repair would take.

The DP&L outage map shows an outage in that area affecting 90 customers as of 5 a.m. The outage map says that the outage is estimated to end around 7:30 a.m.

This crash remains under investigation.
