Two people who overdosed in a pickup truck late Friday night slowly drove a half-mile down Denlinger Road in an erratic path over yards and through fences before striking a gas line at the dead end.

Crews were called around 11 p.m. to the 3000 block of Denlinger Road for the crash that led to a natural gas leak, the evacuation of a house and a road closure until Vectren crews could repair the  leak.

The family waited inside a Trotwood firetruck to keep warm, and the two people in the pickup who suffered overdoses were taken to a local hospital, where they were expected to be OK, crews said.

The two in the pickup truck apparently passed out after turning down Denlinger Road from Free Pike. They were not identified, and it’s not clear what charges they may face.
