Coroner now has remains found near Town House Motor Lodge in Springfield

UPDATE @ 6:14 p.m.: Remains a Springfield police sergeant said are mostly bones are now in the custody of the Clark County Coroner's Office as the death investigation continues.

The sergeant tells us neither police nor the coroner's investigator are sure whether the bones are that of a male or female.

They also aren't sure yet how long the remains have been where they were found Monday afternoon, behind the Town House Motor Lodge on East Main Street.

INITIAL REPORT

A death investigation is underway for what are believed to be decomposed remains behind the Town House Motor Lodge, 2850 E. Main St., Springfield.

The report was made about 3:45 p.m., according to Springfield police.
