UPDATE @ 2:50 p.m. (July 6):

Fairfield police investigators say they will release additional information on Monday evening’s shooting on Friday morning.

Officials say it’s anticipated they’ll release the name of the person who was shot at 7 p.m. Monday in the Camelot East Apartments complex, and the alleged shooter.

UPDATE @ 1:50 p.m. (July 4):

Fairfield police continue to investigate Monday evening’s shooting on Merlin Drive in the Camelot East Apartments.

Officials tell us they hope to be able to release information about the shooting on Wednesday.

Police were dispatched around 7 p.m. on Monday to a report of a male suffering from a possible gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to University Hospital Medical Center by a medical helicopter.

The apartment complex is just off Ohio 4 near Jungle Jim’s International Marketplace.

INITIAL REPORT (July 3):

One person has been taken to a Cincinnati hospital after a shooting Monday night in Butler County.

Fairfield police tell us they were dispatched about 7 p.m. to Merlin Drive on a report of a male suffering from a possible gunshot wound to the chest.

His condition was not available at 9 p.m. He was taken to University Hospital Medical Center by helicopter.

Investigators continue on scene. No other information has been made available.
