Police reports: Girl in prom dress tries to slash tires

May 8

Three men were charged with theft after they allegedly stole items from CVS Pharmacy, 820 S. Breiel Blvd. They allegedly stole two Tide detergents and a Pantene shampoo. Richard Lemmons, 29, of Trenton, was charged with complicity of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia; Richard Williams, 35, of Middletown, was charged with theft; and Jeremy Lewis, 33, of Middletown, was charged with complicity to theft. The car was towed and the items were returned to the store.

May 9

A chainsaw was found outside a shed in the 3100 block of Andrew Street.

A Middletown woman told police that someone had stolen about $700 out of her bank account.

An air conditioner was stolen from a residence in the 900 block of Malvern Street.

Someone jumped on the hood of a 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible, cut the convertible and ripped out the vent that was holding the Magellan GPS while the vehicle was parked in the 4300 block of Lisa Lane.

Someone broke into a truck and stole an in-dash CD player, unknown brand, while the vehicle was parked in the 4200 block of Riverview Avenue.

A Middletown woman, Lisa Craft, 46, of North Avenue, told police she was hungry and that’s why she stole $9.51 worth of candy from Marsh Supermarket, 621 N. University Blvd. She was charged with petty theft and trespassed from the store.

May 10

Someone stole a 1998 University of Dayton class ring, valued at $500, from a residence in the 2800 block of Goldman Avenue.

May 11

Andrew Smith, 24, of Sheridan, was charged with attempted petty theft and two counts of criminal damaging after he allegedly tried to steal a lawn mower and a cell phone from Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd.

A man took a set of Orion headphones, valued at $42.47, into the restroom at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., and left the store with them. Police are viewing surveillance footage from the store.

Mary Young, 49, of Eldora Drive, was charged with petty theft after she allegedly stole a Red Bull from Valero gas station, 150 Germantown Road. She was trespassed off the property.

A girl wearing a silver Prom dress allegedly got out of her vehicle and tried to slash the tires of a vehicle that was being towed from the Arby’s parking lot, 1315 Elliott Drive. The driver for M&M Towing told police that he was told to retrieve the vehicle, and that while he was loading the vehicle, a Pontiac Sunfire pulled up, a female got out and she attempted to slash the tires. The females fled in the vehicle.

When two men returned to their rooms at Reyton Inn, Ohio 122, after playing pool, they said someone stole $115 from their wallets.

During a traffic stop, police found 1.06 grams of heroin on Evan Slifer, 22, of Middletown. The heroin was found near his belly and it was hidden by duct tape. He was charged with drug abuse/heroin.

May 13

The front door to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, 3230 Roosevelt Blvd., was broken, but nothing appeared to be stolen.
