Police had been advised to be on the lookout for the suspect because he allegedly had threatened to kill his wife, who was staying at the shelter, according to police records on file with Xenia Municipal Court.

Officers responded at 12:50 a.m. to the center, 380 Bellbrook Ave., on the report of a red truck ramming the front gate at the shelter, according to police records.

Police determined the driver did not ram the gate after reviewing surveillance video, according to the records.

Witnesses told police the suspect revved the truck, a Ford F250 Supercab pickup truck, and spun the tires in front of the gate and at one point was standing at the gate speaking loudly on the phone, according to the records.

Police said officers spotted the truck leaving the property and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver continued.

One officer identified Wooley as the driver while deploying a tire deflation device at Bellbrook and Peacepipe Trail; Wooley drove over the tire deflation device and continued on, according to the records.

Police called off the pursuit after the driver did not stop. Officers later surrounded the suspect’s home, where he surrendered without incident, according to the records.
