Power outages began to impact the Miami Valley as the winter storm came through. Darke, Miami, Mercer and Shelby counties had the greatest number of outages due to blizzard-like conditions, said Mary Ann Kabel, director of communications for Dayton Power & Light.

There were 31,000 DP&L customers that were without power throughout the storm. DP&L had a peak outage of 13,000 customers without power Saturday around 11 p.m., Kabel said.

“Our crews worked through the night in those dangerous conditions and were able to restore service to 9,000 of those customers,” said Kabel.
