The I-Team’s investigation showed that Montgomery County has some of the highest CCW license holders in the Miami Valley.
In fact, it’s three times the number a decade ago.
We spoke to those who disagree with the permits, like Toby Hoover, found of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence, who sent the I-Team a statement that said, in part, that “having more secret guns does not make us safer.”
The I-Team spoke to others who disagree, including Dick Martin, an NRA-certified instructor.
“I think you should be allowed to carry, and I think you should encourage your employees to carry.”
Now House Bill 178 is being considered.
The bill would allow those 21 and older who are not facing federal restrictions to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.
The Buckeye Firearms Association refer to this as constitutional carry, and it’s already been passed in more than a dozen states.
Similar bills have been introduced by Ohio representatives in the past. You can count on News Center 7 to follow this fill and have the latest on air and on our app.
