During this time, the team educated themselves on new sustainment technologies and practices while interviewing more than 40 government and industry experts.
“The award is meant to recognize teams that have demonstrated significant accomplishments during the year through analysis,” said Zachariah Sayre, member of the RSO’s Cost Analysis team. “The team’s support put credible cost, budget, schedule and return on investment considerations into the RSO’s culture of implementing next generation sustainment innovations and technologies for the Air Force that will revolutionize weapons system sustainment.”
“The work the Cost Analysis team did in such a short time frame was phenomenal,” said Nathan Parker, deputy program executive officer for the RSO. “I’m thankful for the support they provided and happy they are being recognized.”
The RSO was established in 2018 and is tasked with finding mature, new and emerging technology to reduce sustainment costs and improve Air Force readiness.
Some of the technology the office is looking to apply across the Air Force fleet include condition based maintenance plus, agile manufacturing and automation with lasers.
The office is partnering with academia, industry and Air Force operators to find and deliver products that will lower costs and keep the fleet flying.
