Pickup truck hits house, ruptures gas line in Clearcreek Twp., causes evacuation

UPDATE @ 6:50 p.m.: A father visiting his son has been taken to a hospital after his pickup truck hit the son's house on Parker Drive in Clearcreek Twp., ruptured a gas line and caused an evacuation.

The father had to be extricated from truck and both men as well as several family members were evacuated to the end of the home's driveway, a Clearcreek Twp. police sergeant said.

The father was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown. His condition was not known. No one else was injured in the accident.

A Duke Energy crew has stopped the leak. The family will be allowed back into the house, but without gas service until the line is repaired.

The truck did punch a hole in the house, the sergeant said. The extent of the damage is not yet known.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews are on the scene of a pickup truck that has crashed into a house, left someone trapped and caused a gas leak in Clearcreek Twp.

We're hearing the extrication had to happen quickly because of the gas leak at the home, in the 200 block of Parker Drive.

The incident was dispatched just after 6 p.m. We have not heard of any other injuries or evacuations.

We have a crew on the way and we will update this developing report as we learn more.
