Driver, garbage truck freed after getting stuck under power lines

UPDATE @ 7:30 a.m.:

A garbage truck has been freed after becoming stuck under power lines on Greenwood Avenue in Dayton.

Our crew on the scene reported seeing a driver that was trapped in the truck, and appeared to be fine.

A DP&L spokesperson said that crews responded and that the area was safe.

INITIAL REPORT:

Emergency crews have called for a Dayton Power & Light crew to the first block of Greenwood Avenue in Dayton.

According to dispatch records, a transformer was reported down in the area.

Initial reports said that a large truck had power lines down on top of it, and that people were trapped inside.

We are working to learn more and will update this story with any new information.
