A judge continued bond at $175,000 for a man arrested in connection to multiple thefts and breaking and entering cases in the Washington Twp. area.

Christopher Moore’s arrest violated the conditions of his probation from a 2017 case, so he could face additional charges.

More than 80 items of stolen and suspected stolen property were recovered as part of a search warrant late last week that led to the 33-year-old’s arrest.

Moore was booked into jail after deputies encountered him at Cashland, 980 Miamisburg Centerville Road, where he was detained for questioning in connection to several breaking and entering and theft offenses in the local area.

On May 3, surveillance cameras captured a person prying open a door aroiund 3:15 a.m. at the Primary Village South School, 8388 Paragon Road. The person was wearing a black sweatshirt with diagonal stripes across the front and a logo with the word “Echo” on the sleeve.

During the break-in, the thief stole a Chromebook laptop and a television, court records show.

On May 9, deputies spotted Moore, who was wearing “the same black sweatshirt,” walking into the Cashland.

“Moore was carrying an HP Chromebook that he was attempting to sell when deputies made contact with him inside the business,” court records show.

While detained, additional information led investigators to Moore’s apartment in the 8300 block of Washington Village Drive, where stolen and suspected stolen items were found.

“Over half of these items were positively identified by the victims,” deputies said in a prepared statement.

The items are from area schools, churches and businesses, the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone with additional information regarding property taken in the Washington Twp. or Centerville area are asked to contact detective Benjamin Egloff at 937-432-2757.
