UPDATE @ 9:30 p.m.

Brakes possible led to a semitrailer fire tonight that briefly shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 75, south of Benchwood Road, in Butler Twp.

The trailer was empty when it caught fire, and had to be towed.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the incident, but it was not clear whether the driver would face any citations.

UPDATE @ 8:55 p.m.

The far left lane is now open on southbound Interstate 75 in Butler Twp. after a semi fire shut down the highway.

FIRST REPORT

A semitrailer fire has briefly shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 just south of Benchwood Road.

The shutdown is only until crews can extinguish the fire, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.
