UPDATE @ 10:06 p.m.: Two males, ages 19 and 20, were shot outside the Dayton Library Northwest Branch and were taken to Miami Valley Hospital by private conveyance, police Lt. Steven Bauer said.

The injuries to both men were reportedly non-life threatening, he said.

Homicide detectives have been called to the scene because of the circumstances of the shooting, which were still being investigated, he said.

The lieutenant said he could not confirm the earlier report about a black car, or the make and model of that car, being driven to the hospital carrying anyone from the shooting.

We’re hearing a report that the victim was driving or being driven to Miami Valley Hospital from the incident reported just before 9 p.m.

A black PT Cruiser, reportedly one of two vehicles involved in the shooting, was seen headed toward the hospital, according to Dayton police.

Police spotted it on Ludlow Street, weaving as it presumably headed toward the hospital. There is no pursuit. Police said they would meet up with the car at the hospital.

We’re also hearing that someone from the black PT Cruiser reportedly was seen banging on the front door of the library.

There is crime scene tape around the parking lot and the front door of the library building.

We will update this developing report as we learn more.
