Police need the public’s help following drive-by shooting in Dayton

UPDATE @ 10:10 p.m.:

The Dayton Police Department is looking for any suspect involved in the Harvard Boulevard shooting Sunday night.

Witnesses on scene told police that a male driving a tan Buick with two male passengers fired at a red vehicle before driving away, according to Dayton Police Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman.

“If you saw something, give the Dayton Police Department a call at 333-COPS or the Regional Dispatch Center at 225-HELP,” said Coleman. “We need to find out who did this, so we can bring them to justice.”

The victim, identified only as a male, is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Coleman.

Coleman said he hopes the victim can help provide police with information.

Police are not sure if the large casings at the scene were from a rifle. Two regular casings were also found on scene, but Coleman said they are not sure if those are old or new.

“If you heard the number of gunshots, please contact police,” Coleman said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
