She is asking residents to bring their pets inside, especially tonight.

“If you have a garage or shed, that location is a great place to start. Mud or laundry rooms and guest bathrooms are great as well. If those are not available, consider making a makeshift house outdoors using a Styrofoam cooler, straw, and/or a Mylar blanket. Do not use hay or conventional blankets and towels as they absorb moisture and will not help to keep the pet warm and dry,” she said.
SICSA, located at 2600 Wilmington Pike, also has a few shelters on hand, made by youth attending humane education camps, that residents can use if they don’t have the needed materials.
