Joy Naomi Gorongsay, of the 700 block of Park Street, was arrested Thursday afternoon when sheriff's deputies and a U.S. Postal inspector executed a search warrant at her address and detained her on one count of drug possession of a schedule 4 narcotic.

The search warrant was a result of information received from the Department of Homeland Security that a package was confiscated in San Francisco by U.S. Customs and was found to be 1.15 KG of a schedule 4 drug, Tramadol, known as common brands ConZip and Ultram.

Tramadol, used to treat moderate to severe pain, is described as a controlled substance similar to opioids that has a high risk for addiction and dependence. It can cause respiratory distress and death when taken in high doses or when combined with other substances, especially alcohol, according to First Databank and other sources.

Deputies and the inspector confiscated 2,500 single doses of 100mg Tramadol Hydrochloride pills, along with several computers, electronic devices and documents associated with the trafficking of scheduled drugs.
