Personal financial counselors continue to offer guidance

Personal financial counselors are available to support Wright-Patterson Air Force Base members and their families even now through virtual operations. PFCs offer a wide range of training and workshops on topics such as money management, budgeting and developing spending plans, debt and credit card management, consumer rights and obligations, homebuying, retirement and estate planning, taxes and more.

PFCs also can provide face-to-face counseling and/or deliver presentations to service members and their families using telephonic or electronic modes like the Zoom platform. Each one is a professional with experience, specialized training with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, and are required to hold national certifications for financial counseling and education.

Defense Acquisition University still open for courses

The Defense Acquisition University Midwest Region in Kettering is still open for business and is delivering its courses using WebEx (similar to Zoom, Adobe Connect, etc.). For those registered for a class, that class is still happening online. Participants will receive an email from their instructor with instructions on how to join the WebEx (virtual offering).

DAU is not holding resident classes at this time. Participants can also sign up for new classes during this time. Website offers health, wellness assistance

The Civilian Health Promotion Services is committed to the health and wellness of participants and wants people to know what resources are available on www.USAFwellness.com . On that site you can find things from Daily Pursuits to set your own goals and with daily suggestions to improve all areas of health and wellness. There's also track activity and steps to stick with your fitness goal or even create new ones and can link fitness watches to keep track.

If you need help in the food area, they have a recipe section for new ideas to help stay away from the next frozen dinner. Most importantly you can stay connected to your support team by creating your own group in the Alliances section. If you want to improve your wellness, CHPS can help.
