The 16-year Air Force veteran is very social and uses the platform to reach out to others. When you visit the site, you’ll see an enthusiastic and positive McDonald in his civilian clothes playing music and welcoming visitors to the site.
“There are others like me that want to socialize,” said McDonald. “I’m a very social person. Being able to socialize on Facebook Live gives everyone a place to interact, share musical favorites and feel less isolated for a moment. Many time DJs don’t accept music request. I welcome them!”
While playing requested songs, he engages in conversation with those that have logged on. Don’t be surprised if your first name is called out during the show.
“It’s great to share some good music and to check on how other people are doing,” McDonald added. “This past Tuesday was Kristy, one of the online participants’ birthday. So, the online group wished her happy birthday, and I played birthday songs. I turned it into an online birthday party. Kristy enjoyed it as well as everyone else online.”
DJing is not new to McDonald. Although he’s been DJing for 21 years, this was only his third week on Facebook Live hosting this. On average, approximately 200 people join him during lunch time. He had a record number last Monday of 328 participants.
“It’s always nice to see prior names join in but also inspiring to see new names,” said McDonald. “It’s a great social on-line party that tries to eliminate feeling isolated.”
