Spring Expo set for March 19

The Springboro Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Hometown EXPO, “That Spring Thing,” will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 19 at Springboro High School.

That Spring Thing features more than 200 exhibits, including local businesses and non-profit organizations. It is is free to attend. Springboro residents can interface with the local business community and enter drawings for door prizes.

Opening ceremonies, featuring community leaders, will begin at 10 a.m. The Expo Food Court will offer a variety of choices for breakfast and lunch. Entertainment will be provided by music groups from Springboro Community Schools and other local performers on the stage in the commons area.

MASON

Community garden plots available

Applications are now being accepted for residents who would like to participate in the Mason Community Garden, located on Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road.

Resident gardeners will be expected to tend the plots. The city’s Public Works Department will provide initial tilling of the plots, add wood chip pathways and a composting area, provide trash pickup, and place a water truck on site.

Applications for use of 10-foot by 15-foot plots will be accepted through April 23. After that date, additional plots may be assigned as available. A contribution of $20 is suggested.

Plots will be available for use from May 7 through Oct. 31.

LEBANON

Regional transportation seminar to focus on people with disabilities

A free seminar about finding reliable transportation for those with disabilities will be held March 1 for educators, providers, caregivers and family members.

Participating organizations include Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and the University of Cincinnati-University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.

Family members of people with disabilities, agency personnel, educators and providers are all welcome to attend and participate. The seminar will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ Warren C. Young Center, 801 Drake Road in Lebanon.

The seminar will be videotaped and available for viewing at www.warrencountydd.org/videos.
