Springfield police investigating armed robbery at Speedway

Authorities were dispatched to the store, located at 1314 E. Main St., for the alleged stick-up just before 1 a.m., per initial reports.

An unknown male suspect reportedly entered the store and displayed a gun to the clerk, police say. It’s unclear if the suspect made away with any cash.

The alleged armed robber left the store on foot heading east.

He is described as a tall man wearing all black. At the time of the robbery he had a white bandanna covering his face.

The store’s employee was not injured during the incident.
