They are expected to be booked into jail once they are released from the hospital.
The pursuit began as a traffic stop at Lafayette and Kenton streets when the SUV sped off. About eight blocks later, the driver tried to turn right at Kenton and York streets and crashed into the house, police said their preliminary investigation shows.
The SUV then rolled onto its top and began to smoke. Springfield police and fire crews put out the fire and extricated the man and woman.
A Columbia Gas crew was on scene tonight, working to repair a gas line the SUV hit and ruptured in the crash.
The man is believed to have been sought on warrants, according to police.
Police will neither confirm nor deny witness accounts that police recovered several guns and a large quantity of drugs from the SUV.

A pursuit involving Springfield police has ended with a car hitting or crashing into a house at Kenton and York streets.
At least two people are headed to Springfield Regional Medical Center from the incident, which occurred about 6:50 p.m., according to Springfield police.
