UPDATED @ 9:31 p.m.: DAYTON -- A traffic stop for suspected expired registration turns into possible felony charges for two males arrested following a pursuit and foot chase, said Sgt. Frank Simmons, Dayton Post, Ohio Highway Patrol.
Simmons said the traffic stop was initiated on I-75 in Harrison Twp. because the license plate and registration did not match the vehicle.

The driver sped off and the trooper followed on what turned into a "6-minute pursuit" that included several streets in Harrison Twp. and Dayton.
A Dayton police K-9 unit tracked the two males to a yard and they were arrested outside a residence in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue after a brief foot chase, Simmons said. No one was injured in the pursuit involving the vehicles or the foot chase.
The suspects are being questioned -- and merchandise discovered in their car triggered questions as well.
"There is some merchandise in there that is causing some suspicion," Simmons said. "We don't know if those items are stolen."

He said the vehicle and the merchandise would be seized and checked to make sure the merchandise had not been stolen.
The two males now could be facing charges of fleeing and eluding, registration violation and possibly more, depending on the check of the merchandise found in their car, Simmons said.
