Steer on the loose south of Coldwater in Mercer County, sheriff’s office warns

A steer weighing 400 to 500 pounds has gotten loose south of Coldwater and the Mercer County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning for people in the area to use caution.

The sheriff's office went to Facebook to advise people in the area of state Route 118 and Siegrist-Jutte Road to exercise caution until further notice. The warning was issued just before 8 p.m.

We called sheriff's dispatch and were told the sheriff's office issued the warning in case a vehicle encountered the animal on the road. No other details were available.
