Deputies and the sheriff's tactical response unit converged on the avenue just after 10 p.m. Friday on the report of a domestic situation, Sgt. Joseph Gray said.
A woman caller said the father of her children was tearing up the house and firing a weapon.
Gray said deputies did find shell casings in the driveway and in the roadway.
They went to the man's residence, a few houses away, but he did not answer the door, Gray said.
At that time, the sheriff’s office learned there have been ongoing issues between the adults that were not reported.
Gray said when the man continued to refuse to answer the door, the tactical response unit was called. The man surrendered to the unit a while later, Gray said.
He has been questioned and the sheriff’s office is working on possibly pursuing charges, the sergeant said.
No one was injured. Gray did not release the man’s name or age.
We will update this developing report as developments warrant.
