Suspected OVI driver who hit tree, SUV in Dayton rollover crash indicted

A 33-year-old Dayton man is accused of drunken driving in May after he crashed into a tree so hard a bird fell out of its nest.

The black 1998 Ford Mustang then rolled onto its top and crashed into a black 2018 Ford Explorer parked in the 2100 block of Pershing Boulevard in Dayton, according to a traffic crash report.

Joshua Lattimore, was indicted Wednesday for aggravated vehicular assault, a felony, and OVI, a misdemeanor, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

Police say Lattimore was driving north on Pershing Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. May 7 when he drove over the left curb and hit a tree in the grass median, then overturned and careened into the parked SUV.

Lattimore and his passenger, 34-year-old Stephanie Dill of Dayton, were seriously injured and were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Lattimore, who is not in jail, was issued a summons to appear Dec. 12 for his arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
