"Tecumseh!" author dies

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- The man who penned "Tecumseh!", the outdoor drama, has died at the age of 80.  Allan Eckert died at his home in Corona, California this morning.  The "Tecumseh!" drama has been running in Chillicothe since 1973.  In addition to writing the outdoor play Eckert also wrote a children's book, "Incident at Hawk's Hill," which won a Newbery Honor award and was made into a Disney TV movie.  He also won acclaim for writing for the "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdon" TV series.  Eckert was born in Buffalo, N.Y. He attended both the University of Dayton and Ohio State.  He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

Orations, I fear, are like horns on a steer,
I'm sure you know just what I mean:
You'll find a point here and you'll find a point there…
And a great deal of bull in between!
