Tecumseh Local Schools were placed on a lockdown Thursday afternoon after staff found a threatening message written on a restroom wall at the high school, according to a post made on the district's Facebook.

The district said they placed the middle and high school students on a level one lockdown, which means “it is business as usual inside the classrooms, so learning is still taking place.”

Deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. to check on the threat, but the school doesn’t believe it was authentic.

The district canceled the lockdown soon after, but say deputies will remain at the high school until the end of the day to monitor dismissal.
