Miami Twp. police are investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy who drowned in a swimming pool Monday evening.

Justin Wilson-Aldrege was attending a gathering at a home in the 2400 block of Brahms Boulevard when he entered a pool and didn’t come back up. He was later pronounced dead Kettering Medical Center.

It was not clear Monday night if Wilson-Aldrege was a Miami Twp. resident. But this news organization is working to find out more information about the victim.

First rescue responders were dispatched to the Brahms Boulevard home about 6:15 p.m. Monday when Wilson-Aldrege did not resurface after entering the pool.

“He was wearing an underwater-type mask when he went under,” the caller told a 9-1-1 operator with Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

One of the other children at the address noticed the boy had not resurfaced, the caller said.

“We have a child who has drowned in the pool,” said the caller, who identified as a guest at a get-together on Brahms Drive. The victim was under water “for at least a couple of minutes,” the caller said.

The caller said people there were attempting to do CPR on the victim. The operator, who was put on speaker phone at one point, tried to coach the person performing chest compressions on Wilson-Aldrege.

We will continue working on this story, and we’ll bring you the latest information as soon as it’s available.
