More than 100 of the newest Air Force military medical residents and interns were recognized at a graduation ceremony held at the National Museum of the United States Air Force May 23.

Depending on the specialty, the medical officers completed their residency and internship at the Wright-Patterson Medical Center in one of 11 accredited programs.

During their residency and internships, medical officers also trained with civilian residents at hospitals throughout the Dayton area, including the Kettering Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital and Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Lt. Gen. Dorothy Hogg, U.S. Air Force surgeon general, was the guest speaker for the graduation ceremonies.

Earlier in the day, Hogg and Chief Master Sgt. Steve Cum, Chief Medical Enlisted Force and Enlisted Corps chief, toured the Wright-Patterson Medical Center.

On the tour, Hogg and Cum toured the pediatric clinic, emergency department, diagnostic imaging, operating room, simulation center, medical surgical unit and the intensive care unit and spoke with many of the Residency Program directors about their programs.

Along with receiving an overview of the clinic at each stop, the Air Force Medical Service senior leaders had the opportunity to listen to medical staff members discuss the current challenges of each department as well as their successes.

The following are the graduating residents and interns and specialty. The graduating officers will now go on to provide medical care for Airmen, retirees and their eligible dependents at their next assignment.
