2 transported to hospital, 1 cited after Darke County crash

Two people were transported to the hospital Monday after a crash around 12 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 722 and state Route 726, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A 2005 Honda SUV, driven by Tara Krupp, 28, of New Madison was traveling south on SR 726 when a 2014 GMC Sierra, driven by Douglas Stahl, 61, of Piqua was traveling west on SR 722 and entered the path of the Honda.

The Honda then struck the GMC, which made the vehicles travel into the southwest corner of the intersection where Stahl also struck a 2020 Peterbuilt tractor, driven by Roland Keeney, 58, or York, PA who was stopped at the intersection.

Krupp was transported by MedFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with unknown injuries and her juvenile passenger was transported to Kettering Preble Hospital with minor injuries.

Stahl and Keeney both refused treatment at the scene, and Stahl was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

Darke County deputies along with New Madison Fire Department, Tri Village Rescue and North Central Rescue all responded to the accident.
