The charges stem from a crash that happened the afternoon of Aug. 27, 2016, that took the life of 68-year-old Raymond Deyo, of Bowersville. Smith was driving a 2011 Chevy Cruze west on Hussey Road when her vehicle went left-of-center and struck an oncoming 2004 Toyota Tundra driven by Deyo, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Smith was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, as was Deyo’s passenger, 66-year-old Linda Deyo, according to the patrol.
Smith’s blood-alcohol level was .343, more than three times the legal limit in Ohio, according to the patrol.
According to Xenia Municipal Court records, Smith has a prior conviction for OVI from a traffic stop in May 2013.
