Estaban Contreras, 20, of Oxnard, California was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, a first-degree felony, after the contraband was revealed in a Sept. 28 traffic stop.
Troopers stopped Contreras, who was driving a Kia Forte, for failing to signal during a lane change on Interstate 70.
Criminal indicators were observed and a patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle, prompting a probable cause search.
If convicted, Contreras could face up to 11 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine, according to a media release.
Last year, troopers removed 163 pounds of heroin from Ohio roadways.
