The crash was reported in the eastbound lanes of I-70, between state Route 235 and I-675 around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
An initial investigation found a Buick SUV and box truck were both traveling in the left lane when the SUV rear-ended the truck, according to Sgt. Shane Meddock of the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash caused the box truck to cross-over all eastbound lanes and overturn into a wooded area, Meddock said.
Debris, mainly cardboard and some packages, were scattered across all lanes of the highway, prompting state troopers to initially shut down the eastbound lanes of I-70. Multiple Ohio Department of Transportation trucks were requested to help clean up the debris.
The left and center lanes of eastbound I-70 were allowed to reopen around 6:30 a.m. and all lanes were open by 8 a.m.
Both drivers were transported to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, investigators said.
The cause of the crash and potential factors were still under investigation, Meddock said.
