As of June 30, SHFCU had 684 members and assets of more than $2.8 million, according to a release.
DFFCU was chosen as the partner because of its extensive products and services, advanced online access and shared branching. The firefighters credit union also is keeping SHFCU employees and the existing branch location.
“We are excited to merge with Dayton Firefighters Federal Credit Union. Our members have been asking for expanded services and we can now offer full service financial products. We look forward to continuing to service our members as well as the current Dayton Firefighters Federal Credit Union members,” said Amy Comer, SHFCU manager and CEO.
DFFCU is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Montgomery, Greene or Miami counties. They now have combined assets of about $63 million with about 5,200 members.
“We look forward to providing a full range of deposit and loan products to the members joining the DFFCU family from SHFCU. After data processing systems are combined, we will be able to provide financial services to the members at both Dayton locations, 338 S. Patterson Blvd. and 5000 Burkhardt Road,” said Thomas Newton, DFFCU president and CEO.
