Fishburg Road will be closed from Aaron Lane west to Endicott Road for two to three months beginning Monday. Traffic will be detoured to Chambersburg Road, while local traffic will be maintained.

The realignment will flatten Fishburg Road where it rises up and then dips, making seeing the roadway difficult for motorists.
“It’s been an issue for a long time,” said Russ Bergman, the Huber Heights city engineer. “When you hit Aaron Lane, there’s a hump in the road, and just past that there’s a dip in the road … What we’re trying to do is realigning it by making it more level.”
“For people who live on that road, it’s hard for them to see looking to the west,” Bergman said. “What this will do is help them see cars coming.”
In all, about 1,000 feet of roadway will be impacted, Bergman said. The city has planned the project for about five years.
Accidents have happened on the impacted portion of Fishburg, Bergman said, but he also said that two nearby fatalities were not related to the road’s alignment.
“It’s kind of a safety issue that we’re trying to correct,” Bergman said.
The realignment will cost a total of $350,000, with $200,000 coming from the Ohio Public Works Commission. Brumbaugh Construction is handling the work.
Elsewhere, Chambersburg Road between Evergreen Woods Drive and Bellefontaine Road will be closed for up to four months for a widening. The project is the second phase of six phases slated for coming years.
The Chambersburg Road project costs approximately $800,000 with about 50 percent of the project funded through state and federal sources. Millcon Concrete is the construction company.
