Three people were taken to area hospitals after a stabbing Saturday evening at the American Legion on N. Dixie Drive in Dayton.

An elderly male suspect confronted an adult male victim at a baby shower. When a scuffle between the two started, an adult female and another elderly male got involved to stop them, according to Sgt. Shively.

The suspect then took out a pocket knife to harm the male victim, who disarmed the suspect, placed him on the floor, and held him there until police arrived.

During the scuffle, the male victim received non-life threatening cuts to his hands, and the adult female and elderly male also received cuts to their hands and elbows, said Sgt. Shively.

The male victim and adult female were taken to Grandview Medical Center and the suspect was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

The suspect will be taken into custody after he is discharged from the hospital.
