Anger began his employment with the police department in 1987, according to the release. In his time as an officer, he worked on multiple special assignments, including D.A.R.E., being a detective in the Criminal Investigation Section, field training officer, evidence technician, B.A.C operator, and a member of S.W.A.T.

Anger was a police sergeant from 1997-2003, after which he was promoted to Captain.
He obtained an Associate’s in Criminal Justice from Clark State, Peace Officer certification, and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Liberal Professional Studies from Capital University.
“While capable people will step up to fill his position, it will be some before they can replace the void (Anger) leaves behind,” said Xenia Police Chief Donald Person.
Sams served with the department for 25-years, having experience in detective work, field officer training, as an evidence technician, and as a member of S.W.A.T.
“The city is losing a great resource with Scott’s retirement,” Pearson said.

Anger and Sams were recipients of multiple awards throughout their time on the force, including the Casey Elliott Memorial “City’s Finest,” the Distinguished Service award, as well as leadership awards.
They are also graduates of Xenia High School and both served six years with the Ohio Army National Guard Infantry Division.
