Vandalia-Butler High School will honor heroes from the Butler Township and Vandalia areas on Monday ahead of Memorial Day.

This is the 39th year for the students and faculty at Vandalia-Butler High School to present their annual Memorial Program.

The memorial is a beautiful and patriotic event, according to Communications and Public Relations Coordinator Anaka Johnson, and it honors those former residents of Butler Township and Vandalia who have given their lives in service to the United States.

The schools invite families of the service members and local officials. Current active duty military members and veterans are invited, as well.

The program takes place on Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Butler High School Student Activity Center and guest parking is in the lot on the south side of the building.
