A woman was arrested for suspected impaired driving after the car she was driving ended up crashing into Greenville Creek.

Crews responded around 4:40 a.m. to the 2600 block of state Route 571 to a vehicle in the creek, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A 2003 Honda Accord, driven by 18-year-old Alissa Moore of Arcanum, was traveling south on Coletown Lightsville Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign on Ohio 571..

Moore went off the road and down a steep embankment before striking a tree and coming to rest in the creek.

Greenville Twp. Rescue took transported Moore to Wayne Health Hospital, where she refused medical treatment.

Moore was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, deputies said.

This accident remains under investigation.
