How to get your school, church or business on WHIO’s closings and delays list

ajc.com

When bad weather hits, many schools, businesses, churches and organizations have to decide whether to close.

WHIO can help you get the word out about closings, delays and cancellations with our School Watch Automated Closing system.

All organizations must fill out an application and submit verification of the size of the organization.

If you are approved, an ID code and password will be emailed to you with instructions on how to use the system.

To sign up, visit www.whio.com/schoolwatch/ and fill out an application.

Anyone interested in being a part of the program must email vickie.harris@cmg.com with documents verifying the number of students or employees at your school or business after you have filled out the application. Churches should email their average weekly attendance on the church letterhead.

Please note that it can take up to five to 10 days to process applications, especially in the middle of a weather event.

If you have any questions, you can call our School Watch line at 937-225-7332.
