WEST CARROLLTON — Three West Carrollton police officers will be recognized by the West Carrollton City Council during tonight’s Dec. 27 meeting.

Officer Jared Moore will be honored for a response to a Shell Gas Station on Springboro Pike on Sept. 26. Moore observed what appeared to be drugs and drug paraphernalia and thought that the driver might be suffering a drug overdose. He was able to safely place the vehicle in park and call for a medic response.

Moore and Sgt. Jeremy Branham, who had arrived on the scene, were able to remove the unresponsive occupant from the vehicle and begin CPR. They continued providing CPR until the West Carrollton Fire Department arrived on the scene and took over and transported the subject to the hospital. The person later made a full recovery.

Additionally, Officers John Garwood and Drew Pyles were recognized for their response to a burglary in progress at a Norwell Drive address on Oct. 4.

The officers apprehended three male suspects who attempted to break into a home of a 72-year-old female.

“Due to their quick thinking, tactical response and approach, and coordinated efforts, Officers Garwood and Pyles were able to prevent three suspects from committing a very dangerous home invasion,” Woodard said.
