Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is clamping down on paper recycling in a base-wide effort to reduce the installation’s impact on the environment. The new policy requires 100 percent of the paper and cardboard used on base to be recycled.

In addition to recycling paper and paper products, this policy also mandates the use of the Recycling Center’s shredding service for documents containing Controlled Unclassified Information, Personally Identifiable Information and For Official Use Only information. This would help ensure that such information is properly safeguarded. For classified destruction guidance, contact the Information Protection Office at 255-4745.

To make recycling easy, desk bins, office collection containers and CUI containers should be accessible throughout each work center. Additionally, recycling Dumpsters are located across the installation. Should anyone need more recycling containers, or have questions about Dumpster locations, contact the Recycling Center at 257-9973.

In addition to reducing the base’s environmental impact, recycling materials also generates revenue.

For any questions about the Recycling Program, contact David Dalton at 257-5060.
